By default, most modems and network connections in Windows are not configured to transfer data at their maximum or their most efficient speed. While the maximum transfer speed of a modem/network connection can only be changed by costly hardware upgrades, our software will optimize your modem, browser and network connections settings for faster download speeds, faster web site loading, and an overall increase in web surfing session speed. It helps you to fine-tune Windows specific settings to get the best-possible performance out of your current modem.
The speed of your modem is only partly dependent on the settings and parameters you can adjust with programs. Performance is also dictated by the following factors :

LOCAL LINE QUALITY
Local telephone line quality is something people often forget. And it’s particularly important for analog modems. Line quality varies considerably. Among other things, it depends on the type, age and condition of the local telephone cables.
Poor quality and/or old cables mean less effective connections, on which data may need to be resent more often.

THE PERFORMANCE OF YOUR INTERNET SERVICE
PROVIDER
If your internet provider is slow even the best modem, lines and optimization won’t help. If your provider only sends the data at 5KB per seconds there’s nothing you can do at your end to improve performance. The only solution in a situation like this is to hope that your provider improves, or to change your provider.

The quality and performance of internet servers (and thus the web pages you access) also varies considerably! For example, if you access a website on an overloaded server that is only sending out the data at 5KB per second then even the world’s fastest provider and broadband connection can do nothing to improve the situation. The speed of internet servers depends on the server hardware, the number of users accessing the server and the bandwith of the lines connecting the server with the internet. The more users online, the slower the server will be.
